Present focus of our work on soil water balance is:
Modelling | to estimate the effects of management or technical practices such as the relationship of lowering the groundwater table on yield. Estimation of landuse changes like reforestation on groundwater recharge, especially in dry areas . Evaluation of plant water requirements under conditions of climatic change.
Experimental Field Sites | to improve the data basis for modelling we set up experimental sites and validate field data of our partners.
Improvement of the Gypsum Block Method | to continuously measure soil water tension.
