Welcome at the Institute for Land and Water Management Research - the centre for sustainable protection of ground and surface waters! Panta Rhei - everything flows. The hydrological cycle is a central aspect of our life. In our society of today, water management means harmonisation of opposed interests with respect to water because water resources that are used for consumption and production are to be saved for later generations. For the Federal Agency for Water Management water is a precious public commodity and the agency elaborates decision plans for the solution of water managment problems. We at Petzenkirchen especially are responsible for a sustainable protection of ground water and surface water. With our research, our lab and our consultancy work we participate in maintaining the quality of water.
